sorry kids, been lost in my Harry Potter books the past few days. Book 5 is awesome! Anyway, yeah, here’s chapter 6, it’s a little short, but I don’t feel I’m very good at writing this character yet. Plus I’m reading these really awesome Duck stories by Cimmy. It’s a series called “The Story of the Mighty Ducks.” She’s got a site telling you about the characters and what order to read the stories in. Click the links in her info box. I don’t think she’s done with a bunch of the stories yet though, because there are some gaps in the plots, but I absolutely love Cecilia and Fred, Cimmy’s OC’s, so I recommend going to read those stories too!
wow, I’ve rambled a bit, my apologies, but go read those stories because they’re great! Here’s chapter 6!

Chapter 6: Here’s to Tonight
Maya’s POV
Jeez, glad that’s over. We walked through the cars back to where Fulton and Portman were. Charlie and Adam were now knocking each other back and forth, annoying the passengers around them. I put my arm around Terri.
“We did alright,” I said to her. She immediately started to bounce.
“Yeah,” she smiled. “I’m not sure what you and I said, but it seems to have gotten through. Maybe it’ll stick this time…Look at them. They’re acting as though nothing happened.” I laughed. They were like brothers, those two. But I didn’t really say much to Adam during our “talk.” I was just there. I think he needs that sometimes. Somebody who just listens. I saw a conductor walk by. I vaguely wondered why nobody had asked to see our tickets. Oh well, I’m not going to call it to their attention.
As we walked into our original compartment, I saw Portman and Fulton sound asleep. They looked so cute. They were opposite each other with their eyes closed, their bandanas on, and their heads against the window. The Bash Brothers looked almost innocent enough to get into Heaven.
“Rise and shine sleepyheads!” Terri yelled, jumping on to Fulton. Fulton nearly fell off the chair and Portman’s eyes popped open.
“Whoa, Purple!” Charlie laughed, pulling Terri off Fulton and giving him time to recover from the shock. I distinctly heard Portman mutter, “Crazy Purple Psycho strikes again…” I choke back a giggle. I love Terri and all, but sometimes that sort of statement is accurate.
“So,” Fulton said, now fully recovered, “Is everybody friends again?”
Adam hit Charlie in the arm. “Yeah,” he grinned, “we’re friends again”
“Thanks to Wonder Maya and her faithful sidekick, the Irish Terrile!” Terri yelled, falling out of Charlie’s arms. Everyone laughed, and it seemed like the first time in a while.
“We’ve decided to get something to eat,” I say after I feel my stomach rumble again.
“SCORE!” Portman yells, “Which way’s the dining car!” Everybody in the car turns to look at us again and I chuckle at Portman’s eagerness. Terri and Charlie point through the door.
Half hour later, we sit down to a dinner of burgers, fries, sandwiches, soda, fruit, and vegetables. As the three waiters it takes to serve us walk away, I hear one say, under their breath, “Are those kids hungry or suicidal?”
I look around. Every one of us heard him. We look at each other, down at our tons of food, then back at each other. After a few seconds, Adam starts to laugh. Fulton joins him. Soon we’re all eating, drinking, and for the second time in an hour, laughing. It felt good. As I sipped my coke, I silently toasted my friends and my girlfriend. Here’s to the night. Watching them all laugh, and seeing them all so happy, I couldn’t help but think, “Here’s to tonight, guys. Cheers!”
